Sometimes it can be difficult to find good Netflix movies simply because there are too many movies to choose from. Black Hawk Down: Directed by one of my favorite directors, Ridley Scott, and stars many great actors, amongst others John Hartnett and Eric Bana. A truly great movie, I would go as far as to say that this is not just the Best Netflix Movie available for streaming but one of the best movies ever made. The effects are amazing and together with great sound it makes all the action scenes truly awesome. Despite being a war movie the story is well written making it not just another action movie. The movie is full of great combat footage that almost makes you forget to breathe. A war movie with great dialogue and good acting is not something you normally see but this movie has it. When those things are included in a war movie like in this case the movie has the potential to become a great movie. Black Hawk Down lives up to that potential therefore making it the number one spot on Netflix Instant Watch.

Shutter Island: Leonardo DiCaprio again shows his incredible acting talent in this well directed movie. DiCaprio has come a long way and has become a truly great actor. His performance in Shutter Island is just as good as in The Departed and The Aviator. Shutter Island is a true Martin Scorsese masterpiece that will blow you away. You are constantly finding yourself trying to figure what is going to happen next and every time you get surprised. Shutter Island should really share the number one spot together with Black Hawk Down but I had to choose one over the other.

Memento: A powerful and riveting thriller that leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat. Christopher Nolan directed the movie in a way that is truly amazing and he co-wrote the script and he did a great job on that as well. No wonder he was chosen as the director for many top movies such as The Dark Knight and Inception. And on top of all that Guy Pearce, who plays lead role, shows extraordinary acting skills. He delivers the story with great credibility.

 

The Game: A great thriller where the atmosphere throughout the movie sucks you right in. As soon as you start watching this movie you are hooked. David Fincher, who is known from the very popular movie Se7en, directed this thrilling movie that catches your attention with a well written script instead of cheap editing and effects. Sean Penn and Michael Douglas deliver great performances and shows why they are considered some of the best in the business.

 

In the Name of the Father: Nominated for 7 Oscars should be enough to persuade you to watch this intense movie but if not then the acting, directing and sense of realism should be. An incredible and horrifying story of a man who gets jailed despite being innocent. Daniel Day Lewis is amazing and he really drags you into the story. A movie that will move you and stay on your mind for a long time after watching it.

 

Limitless: A slightly different story which makes this movie interesting. There are some great unpredictable twists in the movie that makes it very entertaining. The movie stars the popular Bradley Cooper and the very talented Robert DeNiro. While we can always trust Robert DeNiro to deliver, it is actually Bradley Cooper who really shines in this movie. He plays a character that allows him to showcase his acting skills.

 

The Last of the Mohicans: A ultra violent and bloody but still realistic action movie that also has a captivating story. It is not your common ‘bang bang’ action movie as this is well directed and written. There are many great and well filmed scenes combined with breathtaking music. The music and sound really compliment the scenes and truly touch your heart. No wonder it won Oscar for best sound. Daniel Day Lewis plays the lead role and does it remarkably.

 

Top Gun: A classic 80′s movie with some great music. This is one of the most famous movies from that time and people still remember it like it was yesterday. Tom Cruise playing the super cool yet emotional fighter pilot competing in Top Gun. Directed by Tony Scott.

 

 

Good Will Hunting: Oscar winning movie written by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. The movie that kicked off Matt Damons and Ben Affleck’s career. The movie is about a kid who has some personal issues but at the same time is highly intelligent. The movie also stars  Robin Williams who plays his character just perfect and in my opinion his best performance ever. Minnie Driver plays the female role and gives the movie a nice touch. A very emotional movie that is sure to touch you in one way or another.

 

The Constant Gardener: A very emotional and thought provoking movie about a man searching about the truth about his murdered wife. He discovers that his world is full of big business and corruption. Ralph Fiennes delivers perhaps his best performance ever.
