Romance comes in many shapes and sizes. Here is a list that contains both the more Hollywood types of romantic movies and the “serious” ones. You will find both classics and newer ones. There should be something for everyone’s taste among these romantic Netflix movies.
Sleepless in Seattle: A classic starring Tom Hanks and the adorable Meg Ryan. The chemistry between the lead roles are very believable and Tom Hanks delivers a great performance. Sleepless in Seattle is an old fashioned feel-good love story.
The Graduate: A true classic movie that delivers a great performance from Dustin Hoffman. An older movie but still a realistic story. The music from Simon & Garfunkel describes the inner turmoil that the characters face. The perfect choice of music that compliments this movie more than any other movie ever produced.
Anna and the King: A movie filed with heart, soul and superb performances. Jodie Foster and Yun-Fat Chow plays the lead roles and they come together beautifully delivering a good Netflix movie.
Indecent Proposal: Can you put a price on love? In this movie Robert Redford tests the love between Demi More and Woody Harrelson. The movie gives the viewer a chance to feel many different emotions helped on by a great performance from the cast.
The Red Violin: Oscar winning movie that centers around a violin which carries a whole story of humanity and social issues. The classical music in this movie is amazing and if you are a sentimental person this is a must watch movie.
Sense and Sensibility: Another Oscar winning movie and another one starring Hugh Grant. But its not Hugh Grant shining through (though he is not bad) it is Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet that give this movie life. A real Jane Austen movie for the romantic people.
Sliding Doors: A movie starring the lovely Gwyneth Paltrow who is perfect for the lead role. This Netflix movie has it all. Humor, anger, sadness and love. This movie shows the good and bad sides of love.
Where the Heart Is: Natalie Portman plays the young, sweet naive Novalee who evolves into a mature and independent woman. A fun and sweet movie about young Novalee dealing with being pregnant and unmarried.
The Hi-Lo Country: Not the movie you normally find on the list of romantic movies but this is a good Netflix movie that sadly is overlooked. Woody Harrelson once again delivers great performance and keeps the interest level up. You will keep guessing as to how the movie ends.
28 Days: Perhaps not the mushy mushy movie people expect to find on a list of romantic movies but Sandra Bullock shows us that love comes in many forms and shapes; family, friends and lover.
