Any New Good Netflix Movies Released In April?

Netflix releases new movies every month and perhaps I was jumping the gun when I hoped for something interesting this month because we lost a lot of good Netflix movies as Netflix did not renew their Starz contract. But there are not many good movies in this April release. I hope that it just a delay and Netflix will use their “Starz money” for something more interesting in the nearby future. Netflix Did Not Renew Contract With Starz

At the end of February 2012 Netflix lost it contract with Starz. It did not come as a surprise to Netflix as they chose not to renew the contract due to pricing disagreements with Starz. It was first reported in March 2011 that Starz wanted Netflix to implement a tiered pricing system meaning Netflix customers should pay more for Starz movies and TV shows. Then June last year Netflix CEO Reed Hastings told website All Things D that Netflix would not renew the contract as Starz was asking for $200 Million which was more than 6 times the price for the original deal that was signed in 2008. We all know that Netflix does not have good movies coming out for streaming every week unless you count in older movies (that Netflix “relaunch”) but once in a while I find a good movie on Netflix Instant Watch.

So it was a usual Sunday evening and it was time to watch a movie. I went to Netflix to look for a good movie and realized that I had seen most of the really good ones so it was time to take a chance and choose something relatively unknown. I have become more picky about what movies I want to watch and the movie has to catch my interest very early on otherwise I lose the interest and watch something else. I guess that is the downside about Netflix. It is so easy to choose something else if the movie you are watching is boring or bad. Sometimes you might not give the movie a chance to prove itself.
